We should not be debating whether a woman has a "right" to have an abortion. Whether they do or do not, they're having them. If we acknowledge that abortion is the ending of a life, then we should be looking for ways to decrease the frequency of abortions. Abortions don't seem to be the result of careless decision making. It seems as though most women who seek them have wrestled with their thoughts a great deal. Certainly, they believe there's no other better option.
I think religion sometimes clouds our ability to reason. The abortion debate is fueled by hate. HATE. Jesus told us to love. LOVE. Love takes understanding. Love comes from a place of humility. Love is not prideful. Don't tell me you're voting the Bible if you vote Republican just because you think abortion is bad. Everyone thinks abortion is bad. We need to be more solution-focused and engage the hearts and brains God gave us.
