So I pulled up the grass for my butterfly garden. Then I started to dig. Apparently, there's some kind of concrete foundation extension from our patio. I don't know where it ends. What's most frustrating is that I haven't been able to get my hands on a real shovel. I've been doing all the work with my little hand garden tools. They're great for houseplants, notsomuch for real gardening. My plants need to get in the ground! I've had them nearly two weeks. I have to figure something out soon.
In happier news, my basil is growing like crazy. I haven't had much luck with my lavender, but the thyme is still working its way out of the soil.
Happy birthday to our little Rollo. He's 5 years old today.
The photo's about a year old, but he's still just as cute.
