I'm glad I've slept on the green kitchen idea some. I have so much red in there that I think it would be a bigger investment than I had planned to switch out the colors. Someday, I'll be able to change my decor colors on a whim, but I'm not there yet. So now I need to start looking for something that will match all the red I have in my kitchen. I might be able to still get away with some white in the window shade. In which case, I like this one:

It's a bit redder of a red than I have in the rugs, but it matches some of our dish towels. The rugs, I think, are the biggest expense to replace. And I really like the bigger of the two and don't have the slightest bit of red anywhere else in the house. I actually have two full-length, red curtains I'm currently storing. We had a lot of red/orange going on in the places we've lived before, always coordinating with the orange rocker. But it's not going to be orange any longer. I figure I can either recover it or change the color palate in my kitchen right now. Easy choice.
